COVID-19 Response

UPDATE 8/1/2020

Face masks are now required at Blue Devil Bowl Bar & Grill. We are following the Wisconsin state mandate and all patrons and employees will be required to wear a mask to come into the alley.

You will need a mask that covers your nose and mouth when you enter the alley. Once you have found your table or barstool you may remove you mask. However, at any time if you leave your seat, (ex. use the bathroom, play the juke box, leave the alley, etc.) you will need your mask on.

Employees will be wearing masks at all times.

The mask requirement is still needed while bowling. If you plan to bowl, you will need to wear a mask, however, when you're at your table, eating or drinking, you may remove it. The mandate is for everyone over the age of 5, so even children will have to wear one. We have ordered children's sized masks, but they are not available for purchase, yet.

We are aware that this is not a popular opinion, but please understand that this is a State mandate and we are complying. We have very comfortable masks for sale for those who do not have one. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

UPDATE 3/24/2020

Gov. Evers has declared a "Safer At Home" order effective 3/25 at 8 AM but we remain open as an essential business. We will continue to do carry-out from 11 AM - 7 PM.

Our menu has slightly changed during this time and is available on our Facebook page. All orders must be called in at 608-882-9850. Please come to the carry-out window that is marked at the front of the building to pick up your orders.

Thank you all for your patronage. Together we will all get through this.

Update 3/17/2020

For the foreseeable future, per CDC recommendations, we are asking that you call ahead for all take-out orders as we will not be offering sit-down service or bar service and will not be taking orders in person. All orders must be called in. Our full menu will still be available for take-out. Please watch our Facebook page for daily specials.

Doors will be open from 11 AM – 1 PM. We will be using the time from 1 PM – 5 PM to clean and improve the alley so the doors will be locked. You can still order take-out during this time but must call ahead. Doors will reopen at 5 PM and will remain open until we close once dinner take-out orders slow down.

UPDATE 3/16/2020 4:00 PM

Blue Devil Bowl is changing to only have take-out orders for at least the next two weeks starting 3/16. Please call ahead for take-out orders as we will not be having sit-down service while waiting. We also will not be able to offer bowling during this time. We will continue to open at 11 AM and will close each night once take-out orders slow down.

With schools being closed, we understand that may present a challenge to families in the Evansville community. If you are concerned about ensuring your children have lunch, please call Blue Devil Bowl, (608) 882-9850, starting Wednesday, 3/18. We will have some free sack lunches available for kids each day that contain a choice of turkey, ham, or PB&J sandwich, chips, and applesauce. No purchase is necessary. Please call ahead to ensure we have lunches still available.

Please stay tuned for updates as this is a fluid situation and we will update as quickly as we can if the situation changes.

Thank you for your patronage and we look forward to seeing you again once we completely re-open.

UPDATE 3/16/2020

Blue Devil Bowl is staying open for business and will continue to run our regularly scheduled leagues and open bowling activities. Per recent regulations, we are required to limit the alley to a maximum of 50 people at one time. We are also asking that all groups have at least one adult (18+) accompanying them to help ensure proper hand washing and sanitizing practices.

With schools being closed, we understand that may present a challenge to families in the Evansville community. If you are concerned about ensuring your children have lunch, please call Blue Devil Bowl, (608) 882-9850, starting Wednesday, 3/18. We will have some free sack lunches available for kids each day that contain a sandwich, chips, and a healthy side. No purchase is necessary. Please call ahead to ensure we have lunches still available. They also are take-out only to reduce exposure.

As for leagues, all leagues are planning on bowling as scheduled this week. If any individuals do not feel they should come down to league bowl from this point on, normal rules apply for each league governing absent bowlers. In addition, for those individuals, no alley fees will be owed; see your secretary for specific league dues. Each leagues’ board of directors can convene to determine if they want to end their season early or continue on.

We will continue to keep our business clean and sanitized. We are also asking our dining customers to consider take-out as a delicious option! Please stay tuned for updates as this is a fluid situation and we will update as quickly as we can if the situation changes.

A Note to our Guests and Team Members About COVID-19

As we all try to cope with COVID-19, we would like to let you know what we’re doing to maintain a healthy work and play environment here at Blue Devil Bowl:

  • There is a hand sanitizer dispenser on the alley side of the establishment that we encourage all patrons to use.
  • While we have always strived for a high standard of cleanliness and safety, we have increased our efforts to continually clean and disinfect common surfaces of the bar, alley, balls, ball returns, consoles, machines, and restrooms.
  • We’ve increased the amount of disinfectant used on rental shoes between uses. This may cause them to feel damp, however, be assured they are okay for use. Bowling in socks or your own bowling shoes is still an option.
  • We have advised all staff to monitor their health for any flu-like or abnormal respiratory symptoms, and to seek medical attention as needed. We have posted hand washing instructions and are asking all staff and guests to follow them.
  • We are closely monitoring the latest recommendations from the CDC, WHO, National Restaurant Association, the BPAA, and other agencies regarding our policies relating to COVID-19.
  • We join with our larger Evansville Community in encouraging all staff and visitors to follow CDC recommended preventative measures to help minimize the spread of germs in public places. We remain committed to providing you and your family with a great experience at Blue Devil Bowl and hope that these measures give you confidence that we are taking the necessary precautions in this evolving situation.
  • For additional information about COVID-19, please read the latest report from the Centers for Disease Control at www.cdc.gov
